I'm starting a vintage store

I'm starting a vintage online store through etsy. So far I've just set it up and named it. It took a while to come up with a name that I like that wasn't taken. And so it is named Triangle Vintage. Because triangles are awesome and the three points and sides are in threes but one shape like the trinity, three in one. It's gonna include a lot of floral items 60's & 70's mainly house stuff, kitchen, mugs, sheets, some clothes. I'm really picky, so I'll only be selling things that I myself would buy but if you have any vintage style or item preferences tell me and I'll be on the look out.

You can check it out so far Triangle Vintage at etsy

HURRAY!

guess what?! I sold the coral Indian necklace on my etsy shop! Yay! Such an awesome feeling. Praise the LORD! God is good! Now I feel like I can go bead shopping again, maybe. I've made a pact with myself to not buy anything, material possession wise for two paychecks and I got paid today so for another 2 weeks. And to be better/more deliberate in paying off debt (student loan & credit card). So I've decided $250 of each paycheck goes to that. It was Gods leading, like instantaneously feeling the need to do this like a week ago. So I have a plan and with Gods help in the self control area to pay off our credit card & student loan in a year. Which when it is finished will I'm sure feel awesome. I'm happy with my packaging of the necklace I sold. I decorated it at the post office with drawings of feather leaves and I threw in an extra something. It's a surprise, but I felt lead to do so. So, maybe it will lead to more sales, I don't know, but being generous feels nice. I feel that when you have the idea to so more for someone or not, you should do more and God will bless you with joy. So, yay! God also gave me the opportunity to eat lunch with a homeless man named Stewart so if you would like to pray for him, thank you.

DRAWING FOR A CURE

DRAWING FOR A CURE is a project to raise funds for research for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society that Pretty Little Thieves is doing. She has lowered a selection of her original drawings to $20 each. $10 from every drawing sold is donated to the cause. going on from now to June 30th. But get over there quickly, I just bought three. I'll post about them when I receive them. I've ordered from her before and she is an awesome seller. So hop on over to her etsy and check out what is available and help support a good cause and an independent artist.
here are some of the drawings available.

vintage floral etsy treasury

Made a new treasury today. It is vintage fabric theamed. I love vintage fabric, usually in sheet form. I have a small stash of vintage sheets myself. It is one of the first things I look for in thrift stores and usually cost around $4. and it is one of those things that if you find, you have to buy it because you never know if you will see it again.

if only for a moment, it was hot. :)

mini bunting necklace

My newest necklace I finished today and started last night watching House on hulu. The light blue 6 strands of cotton string are braided with the triangle beads woven into the braid so that they don't move on the necklace. I reinforced the beads with 3 more strands strung through them, then that friendship bracelet knotting technique along the backside of the end beads. The length of the necklace is 14" long. I like the simplicity of it and I'm in love with bunting right now. Recently learning that it is called that. I used to just call it flag banners. but they are awesome.

Lilah Shepherd Jewelry

I've been itching to make some jewelry lately. and after my friend and i went to the Bead it store in Austin, Texas. that is surprisingly large inside compared to what it looks like outside. they had a pretty good collection. A little pricey but that is just because I'm used to buying from bead fairs where the price is closer to wholesale than retail. but I bought a bunch of beads and I'm already on a roll with making necklaces. The necklaces remind me of my abstract illustrations.

Yay, etsy treasury

I got my first feature in a rain theamed etsy treasury by nimi jewelry.

Handmade Portraits: Brown Rice Family

after watching this video I bought some of their soap. I'm really excited about it. they put a lot of effort into their soap & the plus, it is entirely organic. Now if I only ate this way, I'm working on it. check them out on their etsy. I bought 2 cedar mint bars. they also have unscented and tea tree which I wanna try next. Here is the discription of their soap "Green Tea and Rice Bran is a nurturing combination for sensitive skin. Green Tea is a natural antiseptic. Plus, “Catechin” found in green tea leaves are known to quench free radicals and reduce inflammation to protect your skin from sun and aging. Rice bran wash has been known as Japanese women’s “common sense” beauty treatment since generations before soap. Rice bran wash helps to remove traces of dirt and gently exfoliates dead skin. We import our organic green tea directly from a local farmer in Shizuoka, Japan."

Wonderland Room

I recently bought some blue floral vintage fabric tape, blue gingham washi tape and this neat 13 letters alphabet rolling stamp. They came in the mail yesterday. I haven't gotten the chance to use it yet because I don't have a stamp pad. sad. but the package came with this cute heart card and some random bits of paper.

Kirkus

Received my new "to" and "from" stamps from Kirkus yesterday! I'm excited about using them on my etsy packages. Now if only somebody would buy something then I could put them to use. They are really nice, hand carved from an eraser and look like old circus lettering block prints like hatch show print has a lot of if you've ever visited them in Nashville, TN. It's awesome. My stamps came with a free friendship bracelet, sweet. check out kirkus's etsy.

Both the Paint & Tape illustrations are now available in my etsy store to buy and hang in your own studio.

cute as a button

light bulb idea. Maybe I've seen these before but if i did I don't remember a particular instance. But cute idea. A fabric covered button + bobby pin = hair accessory. I'll make some for eveneve.etsy soon.

I recently posted some of my original artwork on my etsy. check it out. If there is something in particular of my artwork that you've seen on my blog or flickr accounts that you would like to purchase just contact me via etsy conversations. I'll be posting more little by little.

Also in the making, vintage sheet fabric coasters. Eco friendly because of the re usage of fabric that is awesome so it doesn't get added to a landfill.

stamps

These stamps from kirkus would look real cute on the outside of a kraft paper envelope.
