Hanging Clouds

Ok so here I decided on a heavy cotton blue embroidery thread, with a tied loop at the end to hang by or in this case I took two little birds that have a wire coming out of them usually used for floral arrangements to connect the loops to the tree to take pictures. I like the birds. I still want to make some sort of mobile though. Still thinking...

Little Hanging Cloud

I've made about 5 clouds from this cloud pattern I made. This is the first one I made complete with string to hang. I want to make a cloud mobile but am unsure of what to make to mobile out of. I've thought wood, maybe square dowels. Or maybe make a plush mobile cross and hang them from that. Or maybe a large cloud and hang smaller clouds from him. But this is where I’m at so far. Also, deciding what kind of string to use to hang the plushies because thread seems a little delicate and easy to tangle.

Mini Etsy

Ahh. mini etsy is awesome. A great way to post on forums. Make sure where you're posting allows you to promote in that area. Ok mini Etsy can be found when you are logged into your store account go to "your etsy" page. At the bottom of the left column is a link for "Etsy mini" Where when on your Etsy mini page will generate your choice from 1-5 columns x rows of "Items from my shop" or "Items from my favorites". Here are some examples and shout outs to some talented people on Etsy :) and one for my store too

Made a Facebook Store

here is my new Even Eve's Facebook Store Page for my etsy store. I learned about these facebook store pages from a forums post on Etsy. Just another way to promote your Etsy store and get more people to find it.

Etsy Shop Critiquing

The other day I got my etsy shop critiqued for the first time. An awesome opportunity that Etsy provides once a week in the Tree house (one of the Virtual Labs located in the community section of Etsy). Everyone who has an Etsy shop should take advantage of this. You show up in the Tree house at the designated time (Est. USA) and the Etsy Admin who is doing the critiquing picks the shops that they have time to critique (you can get your name put on the list if you "convo" short for conversation HeyMichelle by being signed in on Etsy go to her page and click contact HeyMichelle). You can see the Admin talking via a mini webcam in the Tree House while the critique is going on. She will go through the chosen shops and talk about important tips on making your store the most it can be. The notes i got from it were (1)make my store intro smaller so that when people get to my store page they can see some of my products without scrolling down. (2) When taking pictures of my items with a natural light source set my camera to EV balance. (3) Sell some items that are the same if i sell a bunch single sell some in bunches/sets. (4) Take themed pictures of themed items like a sushi set up next to something made with sushi print fabric (5) for promotion have a blog :) and post and reply to forum posts (6) for tips on how to photograph your items go to the gift section in the same category of your item and see how others are photographing (7)Here are the links she gave out during the session (a)International shipping for US sellers (b) Tagging tips when posting items (c)Shipping how to (d)the art of pricing (e)more shipping tips (f)the beginners guide (g)marketing

Here is a cool article I found on Silk-Screening

Hello and welcome

Hi,

First entry, hehe, a little intimidating but nothing I can't handle. I'm starting this because I love to craft, that is a little vague. I love to sew and draw with pastels or charcoal, pen and ink and watercolors. I've tried a lot of stuff craft wise. I'm about to get into print making.

For my birthday I got a Kodak Z1275 digital camera and a Canon PIXMA Pro 9000 with 8 ink cartridges. I'm so excited. I haven’t opened it yet. I’m not sure where I want to keep it so that Jamin’s three cats who live with me don’t destroy it. Jamin is by the way my fiancée. It is sitting on my kitchen floor safely in the box all anxious to be opened and used. I need to get some art paper to print on.

I want to make prints of my art work to sell because up till now I’d been selling originals. I tried to remember to take a phone picture of stuff before I sold it but I didn’t always remember :(. Anyways, mainly on little 4.5” x 6.25” paper. Some pen and ink with watercolor flowers and faces, mainly faces. I’d sit outside this popular coffee shop on the Square of my town and ask people if they wanted to look at my art. For the most part the response was being ignored or sped up walking. But sometimes people would stop and look at my pieces in vellum envelopes held down by river stones so as to not blow away. And on the rare occasion actually buy one. Which was really exciting.

After much persistence of my friends telling me after watching me among gatherings of friends sit contently focused on sewing something I started an etsy.com account called “even eve”. So eveneve.etsy.com is its name and place. I wanted a name that would reflect my faith and belief, to honor God and give him the glory for giving me the ability to sew and artistic talents, to give everything to him. It took me a while to come up with the name. I prayed about it and had some ideas. Some which were already taken, others including numbers like a verse reference which after reading articles on name suggestions decided against. My fiancée came up with it. So “even eve” which the letters put together themselves are cool because they are a palindrome. But it stands for that salvation and the forgiveness of past, present and future sins that Jesus accomplished is for everyone even the first sinner, even eve.

I plan to post on projects I’m working on and etsy insights I’ve learned from research and having my own shop, post things that are just too cute or cool to look past, inspirations and updates.

I hope that you enjoy your future readings of “the little cloud” because I’m excited about getting started :)
