Ok so i've been learning a lot lately about ways to promote your etsy shop and didn't want to forget about them. I may expand on some of these tips later.
(1)have a blog (2)do craft shows (3)hand out business cards everywhere + magnet business cards (4)maintain an email mailing list (5)a real mail mailing list (6) forums (7) flickr (8) word of mouth to friends
