made it to the wedding...

It was really pretty. Full out wedding on a ranch with grounds that looked like an old western movie town touched up in country shabby chic. There was a photo booth and dance room with a dj and lights, red velvet & vanilla & chocolate coconut cake. They had really tiny shots available, the same size as those little salsa portion cups at Taco Cabana. There were free mustaches on the tables with the catered mac n' cheese & corn bread BBQ at the reception. I brought some of the flowers home.

fabric boutonnieres

Here is a sampling of boutonnieres and decrative flowers I made for my friends wedding. She got the idea from the Martha Stewart wedding website. They remind me of the 30's, feedsack fabric, cute, vintage, crafty, wedding items you can make for your own wedding. I added yoyos (a quilting technique) behind the buttons for the boutonnieres we used for the groom, father & grandfather. The groomsmen used one with 3 plain buttons & the ushers used the one with 4 buttons. The roses were sewn to a basket that was on the gift table for cards.

Knitted Wedding Veil

These are pictures from our wedding in Oct. I knitted my veil because I found this beautiful knitted veil pattern in the book "Wedding Knits: Handmade Gifts for Every Member of the Wedding Party" (Suss Cousins) and because I really don't like tulle and because I wanted to make my dress exactly like the one I wore from Project Alabama but didn't have enough time in our 5 month engagement, so I made my veil. It took me a few months just working on it in my free time, like before church and after work when I felt like it. I made the head piece out of thick jewelry wire and with thinner jewelry wire I connected the knitted loops to the head piece and beaded it with an assortment of yellow and gold beads.
